Strong and Sassy

On Thursday June 13, 2024 the Arnica Foundation held a celebration of its work at Juno House to recognize donors. Arnica is a wildflower found in Alberta that has demonstrated healing qualities. Our club continues it's strong relationship with Arnica.
RCCD through Major Donations invested $10,000 to assist in bringing its successful mental health therapy for young women and their families into the broader community. The presenter was Deb Dana, LCSW, a clinician, consultant, and internationally recognized author and speaker from Chicago specializing in complex trauma and the Polyvagal Theory.
Strong and Sassy was special for many reasons. Young women shared the impact that the therapy had on their lives; the second was that our own Michael Colborne chaired the Arnica Foundation Board for some years; and the third is that our own Steacy Pinney read from her soon to be published book, Because of a Book. In the informal conversation with attendees ideas were share on ways in which Rotary assist and engage in leveraging the therapy and positive impact on the mental health in our community.
